An Estate Surveyor and Valuer -ESV David Oziri said Estate Surveyors and Valuers plays a vital role in real estate development starting from the Conceptualization stage to the finishing.
ESV Oziri made this known yesterday stating that the Real Estate developer, the Landlord after conceptualizing the investment plan, contacts the Estate Surveyor and Valuer to advise on the highest and best use of the land.
He said the Estate Surveyor and Valuer advises the developer on the purpose of the land to suite his investment.
“His advisory role is dependent upon the nature of investment on the land, whether it is commercial or residential.
“He helps the developer to acquire the land that will benefit the purpose of the investment and the location.
The Estate Surveyor upon acquiring the site, he acts as an arbitrator who manages and oversees the functions of other professionals like the Architect, Land Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, etc.
After the completion of the project, he comes in again to manage the property as a whole and handles all relevant issues that may come up at every point in time”, he said.
He noted that the Estate Surveyors and Valuers play a primary role of project managers in addition to arbitrators.
He also acts as a major link between the developer and other professionals in the construction site.
