Ex minister, Labaran urges media to preach peace

Former Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku has appealed to media organizations in the country to always disseminate information that would bring peace and unity of the country, adding that where there is peace, development can strive.
Maku made the call during the 15th anniversary celebration to mark the establishment of Precious FM 102.5 in Lafia, Tuesday.
According to him “I urged media organizations, religion leaders, politicians and traditional rulers in the country to always disseminate information of peace and unity. Peace is very paramount.
Peace is the number one requirement for development. Without peace, no society can strive. Once peace and stability is established then development must take place”.
The former minister further implored media houses in the country to also embrace the culture of openness while dishing out information to the public; adding that people should be giving equal opportunity to express their feelings as well as hear what is happening around them on daily basis.
