The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State has categorically dismissed reports suggesting the collapse or weakening of the party following the exit of one of its former chieftains, Adamu Maina Waziri.
In a strongly worded statement issued by the state leadership and signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Salihu Mohammed Baba, the PDP described such reports as misleading, unfounded, and a deliberate attempt to misinform the public while undermining the party’s renewed vigor.
According to the statement, the recent resignation of Adamu Maina Waziri from the PDP has not only failed to weaken the party but has, in fact, removed a long-standing obstacle to unity and progress.
The party leadership expressed relief that with Waziri’s exit, the PDP is finally free from internal sabotage, factional manipulation, and leadership interference—factors that have historically hindered party cohesion and electoral performance in the state.
The Yobe PDP emphasized that its entire structure—from wards to local governments and the state level—remains intact, growing stronger, and has no intention of joining any coalition.
“However, our doors remain open, and we welcome new members interested in joining the party,” the statement added.
