The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total of N2.001 trillion among the Federal Government, states, and local government councils for August 2025, representing revenues generated in July.
The figure reflects a modest increase from the N1.81 trillion disbursed in the previous month.
According to a communiqué issued at the FAAC meeting held in Abuja, the allocation comprised:
N1.283 trillion from statutory revenue,
N640.61 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT),
N37.60 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and N39.74 billion from exchange differences.
Breakdown of the N2 trillion disbursement shows that:
The Federal Government received N735 billion, The 36 States collectively received N660 billion,
The 774 Local Government Councils got N485 billion, An additional N120 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared as derivation to oil-producing states.
The communiqué further disclosed that the total gross revenue for July was N3.8 trillion. From this amount, N152.68 billion was deducted for collection costs, while N1.68 trillion went into transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.
It added that statutory revenue for July stood at N3.07 trillion, down from the N3.49 trillion recorded in June, a shortfall of N415 billion.
From the distributable statutory revenue of N1.283 trillion:
The Federal Government received N613.81 billion,
States received N311.33 billion, Local governments received N240.02 billion,
Benefiting states got N117.71 billion as 13% derivation revenue.
From the N640.61 billion VAT pool:
The Federal Government received N96.09 billion, States shared N320.31 billion, Local governments received N224.21 billion.
Similarly, out of the N37.60 billion EMTL, the Federal Government got N5.64 billion, states received N18.80 billion, and local governments collected N13.16 billion.
From the N39.74 billion exchange difference, the Federal Government received N19.54 billion, states got N9.91 billion, local governments received N7.64 billion, while N2.64 billion went to oil-producing states as derivation.
