The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Ayo Omidiran, has reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to deepening institutional collaboration as part of ongoing governance reforms aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and constitutional compliance across the public service sector.
Omidiran reassured on this position during a high-level courtesy visit by the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Mr. Zacch Adedeji, at the FCC headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
The FCC boss emphasized the constitutional mandate of her agency, particularly its oversight of equitable representation across over 700 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), adding that it remains fundamental to national cohesion and institutional credibility.
According to her, structured collaboration with fiscal authorities will enhance regulatory alignment, data governance, and transparency in the system.
“The Federal Character principle is not symbolic; it is foundational to balanced governance and national unity. Strategic inter-agency alignment strengthens compliance mechanisms and supports evidence-based public administration,” she stated.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service Mr. Adedeji stressed the importance of harmonizing revenue administration with constitutional oversight institutions, adding that coordinated federal action is vital for macroeconomic stability and inclusive development.
“Sustainable revenue generation must be anchored on governance frameworks that promote transparency, accountability, and institutional integrity,” he stated.
