Barely less than 24 hours after a female suicide bomber killed student and self at Federal College of Education, Kontagora, pandemonium, as students, staff of Maryam Babangida Girls College in Minna, the state capital, saw two men about to enter the school premises allegedly disguised in school uniform.
Reports have it that at around 7:32am yesterday, one of the school teacher Mrs Bezat Doma, while coming to school through a foot path, sighted a man at about the assembly period trying to change his dress by wearing their school uniform, adding that the man saw her and then challenged her where she was going that there was no school.
Doma took to her heels and went in through the main gate and thereafter informed the school authority.
According to the school principal, Hajiya Fatima Madugu, she quickly alerted the Police and that they immediately responded with other security agencies like the military task force and State Security Service (SSS); thereafter, search was conducted but they could not discover anything, neither could they make any arrest.
At the time of visit by Peoples Daily, the situation was calm and academic lessons were going on, but with the fear on the faces of the students, the principal assured students and staff not to be scared, saying it has adopted different measures to curb any anticipated occurrence.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO ASP Ibrahim Abiodun Gambari confirmed that the man in question was a lunatic, adding that due to the porous nature of the school, anybody could have access in to the premises and urged citizens to go about their normal legitimate duties without fear.
