The Second Class Chief (Aguma) of Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji on Saturday turbaned the Chief of artisans in the area, Alhaji Idris Mohammed.
In his speech at the occasion, Magaji advised the newly turbaned Chief of artisans to remain committed to train artisans in Gwagwalada and its environs.
He said he would support any organisation that would impact positively on the lives of the less privileged ones in the society.
In an interview with newsmen, the Chief of artisans in Gwagwalada, Alhaji Idris Mohammed, disclosed that since 2017 he had been training the graduates from the universities through the skill acquisition programme.
He also revealed that his centre had deemed it necessary to train the undergraduates as well as school dropped outs in order to be self-reliance in the society.
He then expressed with joy that his centre had trained at least 64 young plumbers in Gwagwalada so as to be productive in our communities, saying that ITF had accredited his centre for so long now.
He pointed out that his centre would continue to train the youths in order to eradicate poverty among the young graduates.
He, therefore, called on the government of the day to build skill acquisition centres for him to train more youths/girls in the area, saying that his centre has 13 different kinds of trades.
