FCT health care board fetes retired staff

It was all praises and commendations from the staff and management of the FCT Primary Health Care Development Board (PHCDB) as it organized send-forth party in honour of some staff of the Board who recently retired from service.

Peoples Daily reports that staff honoured include; Mrs. Ngozi Ikeliani, State Nutrition officer, Mrs. Comfort Maaji, Gender Health coordinator and Mrs. Josephine Ezimoha Assistant State Immunization Officer

Speaking at the occasion, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Rilwan Mohammed, charged the staff to endeavour to create enough goodwill and exhibit diligence while in service, in order to be remembered for their good deeds when they leave service.

Mohammed, who remembered with nostalgia the diligence and hard work put up by the retired staff, remarked that if he had the power, he would have asked the staff to continue in service.

According to a statement by the spokesman of the Board, Reginald Uhegbu, the Secretary noted that the staff served the Board and the country as a whole with all they had and advised the serving staff to emulate them.

Staff of the PHCDB, who worked with the retirees all spoke glowingly of the good working relationship they had with their retired colleagues.

One of the retirees, Mrs. Ikeliani, who spoke on behalf other retirees who worked in the Primary Health Care Department of the Board, expressed joy that their last duty post appreciated them and found them worthy to be so honoured .

She thanked the Management and staff of the Board for the cooperation given to them while they were in service.

The statement added that the occasion, which was also used to welcome the new acting director of the Primary Health Care Department, Dr. Tali G Buktap, featured presentation of gifts to the retired staff.
