The Principal of Junior Secondary School (JSS) Kutunku 1 in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hajara Ismail, has called on the leadership of the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) to deem it necessary to fence a section of the school in order to arrest the security situation there.
Principal, who made the call while reading her speech during the 3rd graduation ceremony of the school on Wednesday in Kutunku1, appreciating the dignitaries who graced the ceremony.
She charged the entire staff to always gear towards the progress of the school and congratulated the outgoing students of the institution.
She, therefore, advised the graduates to be good diplomats of the school wherever they found themselves, while praying for the outgoing students to excel in life.
She told the gathering that one of the teachers in the school, Mrs. Onesah Dupe Rostti was given an award by the Embassy of China on the 1st of October, 2022 for her dedication to duties.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Usman Yahaya, pleaded with the parents to remain committed to the upbringing of their children.
Yahaya, who is also the Chairman Board 1 in charge of the Area Councils advised the outgoing students to face their studies squarely anywhere they go.
On his part, the Deputy Director in charge of School Services, Mr. Abdulrahman Ibrahim Mohammed who represented the Director in charge of JSS, Hajiya Ramatu Kamal, congratulated the students who won prizes, and urged those students who did not get any prize to work hard next year to make their teachers/parents proud.
Not left out, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Gwagwalada Police Division, Mr. Hamza Musa who was represented at the occasion, counseled the students to be security conscious at all times.
Meanwhile, prizes were doled out to the deserved students.
