A Non -governmental organization (NGO), known as Shiloh Global Development Empowerment Foundation, has awarded scholarships to over 300 pupils and students of Lyngra Private Montessori School, Karu Nassarawa state, for 2020/2021 academic sessions.
Speaking at the 16th inaugural ceremony, the President/Chief Executive Officer of Shiloh Global Development Empowerment Foundation(SGDEF),Prince Emmunael Ezewuiro,said the core aim of the scholarship was to give back to the society by restoring the educational glory of Nigeria by giving out massive scholarships to pupils and students who desires to go school but have no one to help and sponsor them .
Answering questions by journalists, Prince Ezewuiro disclosed that”it has become imperative for the foundation to assist parents, widows and guardians
who are struggling to met with the demands of bringing up their children to sponsor their education .
“We are very glad that our NGO has taken part in assisting such people by lifting up the burdens of the masses and guaranteeing access to quality education which is a prerequisite for success in their future.”
He said over N500 million was target for this educational empowerment.”
Speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Atom Iliya,Retired Chief Inspector of Education Nasarawa State, called on government to go back to the drawing board and set education as a priority.
“We really appreciate Prince Ezewuiro initiative, this is well recommended, we urge
well-meaning Nigerians to also touch the lives of unprivileged children through scholarships.”
Earlier , the Proprietor of Lyngra Private Montessori School,Amb. Grace Kazalma,who shared her gratitude to Shiloh Global for selecting her school as a beneficiary for the scholarship scheme, stated that the Foundation has been putting smiles on the faces of pupils and students that passed the aptitude test and have given them a new song to sing for their future.
