FERMA begins reconstruction of collapsed bridge in Delta

 The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) has commenced the construction of the collapsed Asaba – Illah – Ebu road that linked Delta and Edo states.

The agency, according a statement by FERMA’s Head, Communication and PR, Maryam M. Sanusi, has moved to site immediately, upon receiving notification of the collapse.

It also said: “Officials of FERMA have surveyed the rate damage caused, as well as assessed the scope of works to be done to restore the culvert and open up the road.”

“Reconstruction work has commenced, with Messrs Artes Global Construction Limited assigned to carry out the restoration works. The company commenced work on 11th June and will complete the project on 20th July, 2014,” it said.
