FG drafts Army Special Force to combat Zamfara bandits

The Federal Government has drafted army special force from Defence Headquarters to reinforce ongoing operations in Zamfara state.
The troops led by Brig-Gen PP Malla, were drawn from various services including the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Air force, the Nigerian Navy, the State Security Service, the Nigerian Police and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.
According to the statement released by Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Brigade Sokoto, Major Clement Abiade, said the troops were addressed by the Commander, I Bridgade Army Sokoto, Brigadier General Lynus Kennedy Udeagbala at Gusau Brigade Tactical Office.
He said the move was in compliance with Presidential Order towards ensuring peace and tranquillity in the State, as well as responsive bid to deal with persistent security threats.
He noted that the military in conjunction with other security agencies would leave no stone unturned towards securing lives and properties of the citizens within the context of the provisions of the Nigeria Constitution.
He also expressed the readiness of his troops to implement to the core, the commitment of the President and Commander in Chief never to allow the North West security situation degenerate to that of the North East.
He reassured of military commitment to creating stable favourable security situation which would restore stable social economic activities in Zamfara State.
