The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, has said that the Federal Government remained focused on transforming the country’s natural resources into tangible benefits for every Nigerian.
He stated this in a message to mark the 66th Independence Anniversary posted on his verified social media handle on Thursday.
Alake said that true independence would be strengthened when the country’s natural wealth was harnessed to improve the lives of its people.
He said that the anniversary should be a period of reflection for Nigerians on its achievements and the work that lay ahead to record more progress.
“As we celebrate 66 years of independence, it is important to reflect on how far we have come and the work that still lies ahead.
“For Nigeria to keep registering progress, we all share a responsibility in shaping a strong nation.”
Alake said that building a resilient nation required sustained commitment and collective efforts of all Nigerians, and urged the citizens to work together and keep pushing forward to build a stronger and more prosperous country.
