FG inaugurates Governing Council of Computer Professionals

The Federal Government has inaugurated the 2019-2021 Governing Council of Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria), CPN, with a call to ensure that the country turned out new generations of youth that are well equipped with Information Technology knowledge and skills.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, made the call, on Tuesday, in Abuja where he said that the role of the Organization in the development of the country cannot be overemphasized, especially in ensuring that it realizes the objective of accelerated Information and Technology penetration and growth in the country.
He said that the task of building the country, through Information Technology, was enormous and urged the Governing Council to ensure that competent hands are put in appropriate positions to face the challenges of regulating ‘the fastest developing profession in the world.
Adamu, who was represented by the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, revealed that the Federal Government was not leaving any stone unturned in its efforts of making the country a giant Information Technology (IT) compliant force.
He also called on the Organization to evolve policies that will help government achieve this goal.
