The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially taken over Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), elevating it to the status of a Federal University.
This was disclosed in a press statement, by Director, Press & Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja .
The statement stated that this transformation positions TASUED as one of the three dedicated Universities of Education in the country, reinforcing the government’s commitment to advancing teacher education and human capital development.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the transition and for his unwavering dedication to educational development.
He praised the President’s visionary leadership in strengthening Nigeria’s education sector and ensuring sustainable progress.
Dr. Alausa also commended the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Dapo Abiodun, for his support and trust in the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance the nation’s academic landscape.
Additionally, he acknowledged the Awujale of Ijebu-land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, for his steadfast backing of this historic transition, which will bring lasting benefits to the people.
The Federal Government’s decision to take over TASUED aligns with its strategic vision to bolster teacher education and equip the next generation of educators with the skills and resources needed to drive national development.
