Fix river Hadejia to end flooding in Jigawa towns- residents tell govt

The residents living along Hadejia Jama’are River Basin in Jigawa State have called for collaboration between  state and federal government to fix the river to save lives and property.

The call was made during the stakeholder’s meeting on flood preparedness and environmental sanitation campaign organised by Jigawa State Environmental Protection Agency (JISEPA) with Support from State Emergency Management Agency ( SEMA) held at Dabi village area of Ringim local government area of Jigawa state.

The residents explained that, the better solution to flood disaster in almost 13 towns living along Hadejia River basin is to fix the sand and typha grass that blocked the river.
