The Plateau State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), said the just relocation of the FRSC academy from Plateau to Enugu was not political as widely thought by some aggrieved youths In the state.

The command yesterday reminded that the relocation of the Academy from Jos to Enugu was planned 15 years back by the then FRSC management and not by the present one.

In a press briefing in Jos, the Plateau State Sector Commander, Sunday Maku said, “the idea for the relocation was actually mooted about 15 years ago by the former regime of FRSC as a policy decision and not by the present management of FRSC.

“Jos was used as a temporary or make-shift site for the academy as construction of the permanent site in Enugu started over a decade ago”, Maku added.

Peoples Daily investigation revealed that members of the Plateau State House of Assembly invited the state FRSC commander to explained the reason behind the relocation of the Academy to Enugu.

It would be recalled that on Friday , youths in Plateau staged a peaceful protest to the State government house where they called on the state government to intervene in the matter.
