By Attah Abubakar Mohammed

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund), has allocated funds for educational laboratory science equipment to boost teaching and research at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma.

The development was unveiled during the public opening of Technical Tender Documents for the  2026 TETFund Zonal Intervention.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Khalid Othman, who chaired the exercise, said the documents submitted by interested companies would be evaluated based on eligibility, qualification and ability to execute the project, based on the provisions of the law.

Prof. Othman assured that the process would be strictly guided by due process and transparency, advising representatives of the company to make observations and suggestions where they required clarification or seek improvement.

“You should put it at the back of your minds that in any competition, there must be a winner and a loser. If you partake in the exercise but could not win, take it with a good heart. You can be a winner today and a loser tomorrow and vice-versa”, he said.

The Chief Procurement Officer of the university, Bashir Aliyu Lawal, while shedding more light on the processes, said the project was advertised in the Federal Tenders Journal and two national dailies and invitations sent to TETFund, Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP), Anti-Corruption Unit (ACTU), the bidders or company representatives, relevant professional bodies, certified civil society and non-governmental organisations and members of the public in line with the provisions of the Public Procurement Act 2007.
