Giwa condoles Chukwu over young brother’s death

Factional leader of Nigeria Football Federation, Ambassador Chris Giwa has condoled the family of former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu over the demise of his only younger brother, Mr Obiora Chukwu, who died on June 2nd, 2018 in Enugu.
Before his death, Mr Obiora Chukwu was a lecturer at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT.
In an emotional message to Acting General Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, the former Super Eagles gaffer said: “This is to inform you that I lost my only younger brother whose burial has been scheduled to hold on 10th August, 2018.”
In a release signed by the Special Assistant to the factional president on media, Victor Iroele the NFF President, Amb. Chris Giwa said: “The Federation is saddened by the death of Christian Chukwu’s younger brother. A young man cut down in his prime, when he still has so much to offer the country through his teaching profession.”
“God giveth, and He taketh, we can only pray that the Almighty God will console you and your siblings and grant you the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the President added.

Amb.Giwa further stated: “You have served this country over the years in many capacities, and the least we can do for you as a Federation is to stand by you and support you as you bury your younger brother”.
The Acting General Secretary of the Federation, Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme on his part said: “The death of any man diminishes all of us and for a man, like Christian Chukwu, who has served this country meritoriously, we mourn with him over this unfortunate incident”
“Death is the way of all mortals, but what we all crave for is to live a good life, serving humanity like the late Obiora Chukwu did as a lecturer.” Adding that “I identify with the late lecturer because as one from the University community, I know what the family, the state, Enugu State University and the country have lost. We will stand with the Chairman as he buries his brother”.
The late Obiora Chukwu will be buried at the family compound, Umuikeowo Community, Obe, Nkanu West Local Government Area, Enugu State on August 10th, 2018.
