Gombe state government has donated a total amount of N10million to support Nzem Berom cultural festival.
Announcing the donation in Rwang Pam township stadium in Jos the Plateau state capital, governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya who was represented by his deputy Manassah Daniel Jatau said the donation was aimed at promoting peace and unity emphasizing that the cultural heritage of Berom nation will go along way to sustain love among the people.
He commended the Berom people for their dedication to preserving their cultural identity.
While assuring the people of Berom nation of steadfastness governor Yahaya commended Gbong Gwom Jos Dah Buba Gyang for organising the cultural festival and celebration of his 15th years on throne.
He urged them not to relent in passing knowledge to their children to avoid going extinct as other tribe did in Nigeria.
Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, recognised the festival’s role in strengthening bonds within the Berom community. He urged for continued unity to confront common challenges, promising heightened security measures to ensure safety during the rainy season, fostering a conducive secured environment for people to be able to go to their farms and do other lawful activities.
Da Jacob Buba Gyang the Gbong Gwom Jos expressed its gratitude to the Governor of Gombe State, Alh. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, his deputy, Manassah Daniel Jatau for making the event a successful one.
He noted that the support towards the festival by the Beroms demonstrates the spirit of unity of the Beroms and a wakeup call towards fostering a renewed commitment against the incessant myriads of attacks and security challenges.
