Gov. Alia flags off N6bn construction of Makurdi metropolis roads

Benue State Government has commenced the construction of 16 arterial roads in Makurdi, the State capital.
This is just as the Chairman, Technical Committee on Infrastructure, Planning and Implementation Engr. (Prof) Gabriel Akpen disclosed to newsmen in an interview that the road is to cost 6 billion, assuring that the road will be constructed according to specification and within the time frame of 11 months.
Governor Hyacinth Alia who fliagged-off the construction of the 15.39 km roads within Makurdi Metropolis on Monday, stressed that the construction is monumental as it marked a significant milestone in his government’s commitment to revolutionize the infrastructure of Benue State as well as prepare it to lay the foundation of a new Benue within 100 days in office.
He reiterated his pledge during the campaigns to better life of the people.
Acdording to the Governor, the roads include, New GRA part of Makurdi: i. Odeh-Ageh-John Felse Street (1.08km) with Spur to Akuma Abanyam and Othaniel Taanghar Street,Orkuma Akunda Street (810 meters), Lush Street (580 meters),Augustinian Community Roads (1.13km),Adeke/ Achusa Part of Makurdi, Nigerian Navy Barracks Road (1.98km, Keghem Malu street (420 meters).
