Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago has extolled the virtues of the former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at his 87th birthday.
This was contained in a birthday statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary Bologi Ibrahim.
He described Chief Obasanjo as an exceptional, patriotic and committed leader who used the best of his years for the survival, unity, stability and development of not just Nigeria, but the African continent.
According to Bago, “at 87, the celebrant has become a living legend, and a strong voice within and outside the shores of the country considering his outstanding and commendable sacrifices for Nigeria and many African countries”.
The Governor maintained that Chief Obasanjo is a leader who has had very rare opportunities to serve the country both as a Military Head of State and Democratically elected President where he did exceptionally well.
He added that the celebrant stands tall among great African leaders, as his fingerprints remain an indelible mark on the African continent.
