The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has received a prestigious national recognition for his outstanding performance in Health and Infrastructure
at the States Competitiveness and Investment Readiness Awards (SCIRA) 2026, organised by the reputable BUSINESSDAY Newspaper.
The Bauchi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Shehu Usman, received the award of Outstanding Governor on Health Infrastructure on behalf of the governor .
Speaking with reporters after he receiving the Award, the commissioner explained that ,the award, as one of a series of recognitions bestowed upon the Governor, is a testament to his transformational leadership, visionary governance, and people-oriented policies, which continue to drive sustainable development and improve the lives of the people of Bauchi State.
Commissioner said Governor Bala was honoured for sustained investments in the health sector, including the expansion and upgrading of healthcare facilities, enhancement of medical infrastructure, and ongoing reforms aimed at improving service delivery across urban and rural communities in the State.
He explained that the event brought together senior government officials, development partners, policymakers, and private sector leaders, and served as a national platform for assessing sub-national performance in governance, infrastructure delivery, and investment readiness.
Usman described the recognition as an affirmation of the administration’s focus on strengthening the health sector as a key pillar of development in Bauchi State.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustaining reforms and expanding access to quality healthcare services for citizens.
Usman said The SCIRA Awards evaluate states based on measurable indicators of governance performance, infrastructure delivery, and economic competitiveness, providing a benchmark for sub-national development across Nigeria.
He said The recognition highlights Bauchi State’s progress in healthcare development and its continued efforts to improve public service delivery through targeted investments in critical sectors.
Commissioner said the award was given in recognition of Governor Bala Mohammed’s sustained investment in modern health infrastructure, strategic healthcare reforms, and people-oriented policies aimed at improving access to quality medical services across Bauchi State.
He said Since assuming office, Governor Bala Mohammed has consistently prioritized the health sector as a cornerstone of his administration’s development agenda. Under his leadership, Bauchi State has witnessed significant improvements in healthcare delivery through the construction and renovation of hospitals, upgrading of medical facilities, procurement of modern equipment, and expansion of access to essential healthcare services in both urban and rural communities.
Commissioner said the recognition serves as a testament to the Governor’s visionary leadership and his determination to build a resilient healthcare system capable of meeting the needs of the people. It also reflects the administration’s commitment to ensuring that every citizen, regardless of location or social status, has access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
