The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas on Saturday launched a package of climate-smart initiatives in Jalingo, marking a decisive step in the state’s push towards environmental sustainability and agricultural transformation.
The event which held in Jalingo over the weekend brought together government officials, community leaders, farmers, and development partners to witness the rollout of clean energy programmes, waste management projects, and the distribution of modern agricultural equipment designed to boost productivity while strengthening climate resilience.
Dr Kefas also announced the approval and institutional upgrade of the state’s Sustainable Plan for Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL).
He revealed that the initiative has now evolved into a full fledged institutional framework to be known as the Taraba State Agro-Climatic and Watershed Management Agency.
