From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has praised troops of the Nigerian Army for their gallant efforts towards degrading and eliminating criminal elements in Kaduna State.

This was contained in a Statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Muhammad Lawal Shehu and made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.

Governor Sani particularly lauded the bravery of the troops in flushing out bandits from their hideouts in Kagarko-Iche, Takalafiya, Gidan Makeri and Jangala communities in Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

He noted that the successes so far recorded have been attributed to increased surveillance and coordinated action of security forces.

The massive deployment of troops to troubled areas around the Kaduna State has led to a steady decline in banditry, kidnapping and other forms of crime and the resumption of economic activities.

“Since the resumption of office as the elected Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Senator Sani has held separate meetings with the newly appointed service chiefs namely: Chief of Defence Staff Major General Christopher Musa, Chief of Army Staff Major General Taoreed Lagbaja and Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar.
