The Science Education taught in secondary schools in Kaduna state received a boost as the state Governor Senator Uba Sani commissioned six Science Secondary schools.
The Schools commissioned were: Hunkuyi Science Secondary School in Kudan Local Government, Pambegua Science Secondary School in Kubau Local Government, Rigachikun Science Secondary School in Igabi Local Government, Buruku Science Secondary School in Chikun Local Government, Jere Science Secondary School in Kagarko Local Government and Manchok Science Secondary School in Kaura Local Government
Gov Sani said the commissioning of the six science secondary schools marked a significant milestone in the journey towards educational excellence.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdulkadir Meyere at the commissioning of Jere Science Secondary School in Kagarko Local Government said the schools will accommodate 1,890 students (315 for Each School), providing them with a robust educational foundation.
The goal of his administration, according to him is to produce graduates who meet the minimum university entry requirements and can compete with their peers both locally and internationally.
He added that the initiative is a critical step towards enhancing the manpower development of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
Gov. Sani disclosed that the project was financed through a partnership between the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Kaduna State Government and, represented a landmark achievement in the ongoing efforts to revolutionize the education sector.
“In 2008, the Kaduna State Government secured loan financing from the Islamic Development Bank aimed at constructing four science secondary schools.
“In 2016, recognizing the increasing demand and the strategic importance of science education, we expanded the scope of this project to include six schools. These institutions are strategically located to ensure equitable access across the three senatorial districts of our state.”
