An All Progressives Congress (APC) support group, Northern Youths for APC 2015 has taken a swipe at political opponents of the party who have in the past, derided the APC for supposedly not having internal party mechanisms, saying that only the APC alone has been magnanimous enough to give a competent woman its ticket to fly its flag in the governorship elections.
President of one of the group, Alhaji Sani Haliru Maiwa, in a statement issued in Kano, yesterday applauded the APC for its fairness in electing Senator Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan in last Thursday’s gubernatorial primaries in Taraba State.
Alhaji Maiwa who described the APC as a pacesetter worthy of emulation urged other political parties to imitate the political open-mindedness of the APC by giving their full support to the women to actualise their dreams on their various platforms.
“The APC has demonstrated that indeed, our women who have left indelible marks on the political map through doggedness and selfless service to the nation truly deserve a chance. It is only a party with the interest of the nation’s entire population, without any form of discrimination can do what the APC has done in Taraba”, he said.
