Gumi urges Nigerians to embrace Fulani herdsmen

Date:

Popular controversial Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has said that Nigerians must learn to live with the Fulani herdsmen.

Gumi made this statement in a video posted via X, declaring that the herdsmen were part of Nigeria and would go nowhere.

The cleric stressed that no one could drive them away just as they cannot drive anyone way, adding that they are neighbours and should not be described as enemies.

According to him, if by any mistake Nigeria turns them to enemies, then such an action would spell doom for the country.

The retired army further explained that the real enemy would use them against the nation because they already know the secret of the country.

“They are going nowhere. They are part of us, and we are part of them. We must learn to live together and should never become enemies with them.

“Your real enemy will use your neighbour against you, and nobody knows your secret more than your neighbor.

“He knows when you come back and when you go out. So we should never allow herdsmen to be our enemies,” Gumi added.
