The Councillor representing Gwagwalada Central Ward in the FCT, Hon. Yusuf Nass, has urged Chairmanship aspirants of All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming election to come together for the overall progress of the party in the area.
Nass, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the legislative arm of Gwagwalada Area Council, made this call while speaking to newsmen after the declaration of one of the Chairmanship aspirants, Hon.Safiyanu A. Usman on Saturday at Jeparo Hotel in Gwagwalada.
According to the Councillor, there are many Chairmanship aspirants within the Central Zone, urging the aspirants to understand the principles of the party as the party executives will not like to conduct the primary election rather than dialogue.
He then advised the chairmanship aspirants to accept the aspirant who emerged during the primary election, and charged them to shun disunity and acrimony after the primary.
The Deputy Speaker disclosed that his leadership had empowered about five hundred people cut across the central ward, pointing out that the sum of N20,000 and N10,000 were given to the beneficiaries.
In his speech during the declaration ceremony, the APC Chairmanship aspirant, Hon. Safiyanu A. Usman, said over years the Central Zone A was neglected for the position of the chairman.
He said: “As you are aware, the purpose of my personal decision is to formally declare my intention to contest for the position of chairmanship in the forthcoming election which maybe scheduled soon by he grace of Almighty”.
