The leadership of the Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria, (MHWUN) Federal Area Council (FAC), have passed a vote of no-confidence on the leadership of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, (MLSCN).
In communiqué released at the end of a meeting, issues arising from controversies between MHWUN and MLSCN over insensitivity to workers plight and condition of service. Were tabled.
According to a communiqué, issued at the end of the meeting between the MHWUN-FAC, and MLSCN branch of the union, signed by the secretary of the union, Comrade Idem. E. Korubo, said reports and petitions received by the FAC, from her members in MLSCN, branch of the union concerning the ill-treatment accorded the management, led by the Registrar, Prof. A.O. Emeribe caused the executive of the FAC, to pay a surprise visit to MLSCN headquarters at Asokoro, Abuja, on 28th, May, 2014. During the visit, the FAC, met with the executive and members of MHWUN, with a view towards, getting on the spot information concerning all the allegation raised.”
The Union stated that, “At the end of the meeting, the House unanimously passed a vote of no-confidence on the branch executive of the union, on their effort towards improved working
condition of staff and disregard of extant circular on implementation of skipping and payment of arrears as well as insensitivity to workers plight and condition of service e.g. zero staff welfare”.
