Major stakeholders in leadership circle will converge at the University of Lagos early next month for a summit on Youth Empowerment through Capacity Building in Governance, organised by Leadtimes Africa magazine in conjunction with Highstone Global University,Texas,USA.
Professor Buba S. Mshelia, convener of the summit, in a press statement said, ‘’few Nigerians who have exceptionally distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour including business and entreprenurship, public administration, law, engineering,and other areas of human endeavour will be honored at the ceremony by Highstone Global University,Texas,USA”.
According to him, “This honour is exclusively reserved for those who have impacted positively on the society through their various services and outstanding leadership; it is in recognition of their outstanding leadership qualities exhibited by these personalities over the years in their different local communities aimed at alleviating poverty, hunger, and above all touching the lives of the downtrodden, the most vulnerable and the physically impaired across their various communities, including creation of massive youth and women empowerment programs,”Mshelia further stated.
The theme of this year’s edition of the summit is: “Evolution of Durable Youth Empowerment Programs and Capacity Building Through Good Governance in Leadership-Pathway to Sustainable Peace and Development in Africa”.
Among those listed for honorary doctorate degree awards are Surv.Emmanuel Njoku C.,Abia State chairman of Association of Private Practising Surveyors of Nigeria who will be honored with Doctor of Construction Economics & Quantity Surveying (honoris causa);Surv.Mrs Abiola Adebiyi Mapaderun,Managing Director of Route Tracers Global Services Limited who is expected to be conferred upon with Doctor of Estate Management (honoris causa);the Group CEO of Asset and Resource Management (ARM GROUP),Mrs Jumoke Ogundare is listed for honorary doctorate degree in Strategic Management and Human Development;and Mrs Somachi Chris-Asoluka,Managing Director of Tony Elumelu Foundation who is nominated for honor in Strategic Management and Human Development of the Highstone Global University,Texas,USA.
The CEO of United Capital Trustee Ltd, Mr. Michael Abiodun Thomas is a nominee for doctorate degree in Business Administration as the Co-Founder/CEO of Kuda Technology Mr. Baba Ogundeyi will bag honorary doctorate degree in Banking and Finance.Also,the MD/CEO of Federal Housing Authority Hon. Oyetunde Ojo and the Executive Secretary of Association of Microfinance Banks Mr. Kabir Yar’adua will be honored with doctorate degree in Business Administration respectively at the ceremony.In the same vein, the MD/CEO of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria,Shehu Usman Osidi and the Executive Director of NOVA Merchant Bank Ltd,Olufunke Gloria Okoya will be decorated with honor in Banking and Finance.
Also at the ceremony, the MD/CEO of Dutum Construction Company,Temitope Runsewe,and Barr. Adedayo Ajayi,CEO of Shield Properties Limited will bag Doctor of Business Administration respectively.
The DG/CEO of Association of Enterprise Risk Management,Olayinka Odutola has been nominated for doctorate degree in Security & Risk Management, as a renowned TV producer, and Director of E. O. M Communications Ltd, Elkanah O. Mowarin is primed to bag honor in Strategic Management and Media Studies. Others to bag honorary doctorate degree awards at the summit include the Treasurer of Development Bank of Nigeria PLC,Mr.Abubakar Usman Dunguza;Assistant Director of Technical Standards & Network Integrity Department of Nigerian Communications Commission and the MD/CEO of Globus Bank will all bag different doctorate degrees at the summit.Interestingly,Dr.Anthonia Ada Utomi,a real Estate professional,will bag the prestigious Leadtimes Africa Real Estate Woman of the Year 2024.
A US-based Nigerian, Lukman Olabisi Omotosho(CSPM-ISO) will bag honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration;Ujong Iwara Ibiang of Power Systems and Controls Ltd who is also listed for Business Administration as well as Mr Emeka Nnadozie, CEO of Dozek Lab and Scientific Supplies Ltd, also a nominee for Business Administration of Highstone Global University, Texas, USA.
