Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has pledged that his administration will not take loans to finance projects or incur debts during their execution.

He stated that his government has inherited several abandoned projects from previous administrations and promised to complete them before the end of his tenure.

The Governor made this announcement during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a road connecting the towns of Kayarda Tasha, Kayarda Gari, Unguwan Sarki, Maskawa, and Dan Alhaji in the Lere Local Government Area.

He revealed that the 16.5-kilometer asphalt road will be constructed by a reputable company, emphasizing that “this kind of project is unprecedented in Lere local government.”

Governor Uba Sani also highlighted several abandoned projects in Lere local government that his administration has either completed or for which contractors have been mobilized back to the site.

He mentioned that the Rewa Bridge linking Gure town has been completed, while the Marjeri Bridge has also been finished. He assured residents that the Tudai Bridge would be completed in a month or two

. Additionally, he has taken steps to address the lack of electricity supply in Yarkasuwa, Kayarda, Ramin Kura, and Mariri towns.

The Commissioner of Environment, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, who spoke at the event, described Governor Uba Sani as a man of his word and someone who keeps his promises.

He thanked the Governor for appointing several Lere indigenes to key positions, thereby ensuring that the local government and the entire state receive their fair share of democracy. He noted that the Majority Leader of Kaduna State,

Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, hails from Lere local government and expressed pride in their hardworking House of Representatives member, Hon. Ahmed Munir, as well as their dynamic Council Chairman, Hon. Jafaaru.

Alhaji Abubakar Buba also stated that the Governor has given them the autonomy to manage their affairs, which is why they operate an open-door policy and provide support to their people.

In her speech, House Majority Leader Munira Suleiman Tanimu recalled that during the campaign, the people of Lere local government had requested the construction of the road that the Governor was about to inaugurate.

She promised that the outcome of the 2027 elections would mirror the recent by-election, where the APC emerged victorious in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, as well as in the Zaria-Kewaye and Basawa State Constituencies.

During the groundbreaking event, Hon. Ahmed Munir of the House of Representatives reminisced about the Governor’s early years in Unguwan Makama, Saminaka town, the headquarters of Lere local government.

He remarked that the Governor was an excellent striker who scored the most goals for his team, the Saminaka Celtics, and confidently stated, “Governor Uba Sani will continue to be a striker in the political realm.”
