IGP Disu Decorates 13 New AIGs, 17 Commissioners of Police After Promotion of 30 Senior Officers

Date:

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Tuesday decorated 30 senior officers recently promoted to the ranks of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) and Commissioner of Police (CP), describing their elevation as a call to greater responsibility and exemplary leadership.

The decoration ceremony, held at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, recognised the officers’ years of dedicated and meritorious service to the Nigeria Police Force.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, the IGP congratulated them on their achievements, noting that their promotions were earned through commitment, professionalism and sacrifice.

Disu acknowledged the personal cost of policing, recalling that many officers had missed birthdays, family celebrations and other significant milestones while serving the nation. He also commended their families for their unwavering support and sacrifices throughout the officers’ careers.

He encouraged them to build public trust through professionalism, mentor younger officers and uphold the values expected of their new ranks.

“The responsibility that comes with these promotions demands exemplary leadership, accountability and dedication to service,” the IGP said, while reaffirming the Force’s commitment to the welfare and professional development of its personnel.
