The Independent Petroleum Marketer Association of Nigeria (IPMAN),has commenced the sales of 33,000 litres of kerosene per N50 in Kwara State.
Ex-Officio of IPMAN, Ilorin, Alhaji Okanlawon Olanrewaju, while speaking with Journalists on Tuesday said association is collaborating with NNPC in bringing kerosene at control prize to Ilorin at N50 per litre.
“We are selling 33,000 litres. We distribute it into three filling station. This is a direct intervention from NNPC to reach the marketers directly so that by the time we are giving product like this, it will be much easier for us to get it.
“The supply was the main product before, Since NNPC has given us directly this way, we will be seeling
at the control prize of N50 per litre. Before people were buying kerosene at abut N110 per litre in Ilorin.
“Ilorin residents should be patient. There are so many collaboration with the state government with the NNPC and IPMAN to bring products to Ilorin these days and I think this will help us a lot. We hope that this will be a continuous exercise as they promised us.”
Special Assistant to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed on Petroleum Monitoring, Alhaji Isiaka Lawal Amubieya said the state government is not happy at the sale of kerosene above the control prize.
“Most of the petrol stations sell at N120 or N130.
The government is collaborating with IPMAN executives, we discussed a way out and we are able to come out with this exercise. With the collaboration with IPMAN chairman, his executives and NNPC, we were able to bring about 33,000 litres of kerosene to Ilorin which will be distributed to about three stations across the Ilorin metropolis at the rate of N50 per litre.
