The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has disowned one of the governorship aspirants and leader of Hashimiyya Movement, Alhaji Ubale Hashim, adding that the party is intact in state.
The state party chairman, Alhaji Ado Sani Kiri, disclosed this yesterday during a press conference held at APC state secretariat in Dutse.
The chairman also dismissed the speculations that the party divided into two factions in the state.
“The party and its leadership, at all level, is not aware of any faction under the former gubernatorial aspirant in 2015, Alhaji Ubali Hashim, called Hashimiyya Movement. The party is united as one family in the state,” he said.
Alhaji Kiri explained that the alleged accusation by Ubali Hashim against the present administration of governor Badaru was nothing but betrayal of trust. He expressed shock and disappointment, and described it as unexpected statement from the mouth of one of the respected elders of the party.
Pharmacist Hashim who, in his earlier statement also reiterated his only support to the candidature of President Muhammad Buhari come 2019, alleged that governor Badaru and his team ganged up against President Buhari and voted for Rabi’u Kwankwaso in the 2015 primary elections, saying, “It was later when Buhari emerged victorious as President, they join us.”
Pharmacists Hashim therefore distanced himself from the re-election agenda of Governor Badaru come 2019 as the state governor for a second term in office.
“Hashimiyya Movement will only support President Buhari in 2019; while we will decide on who will be our choice as governor in our state,” he added.
The party chairman explained that the so called leader of Hashimiyya Movement has shown act of impatience and ungratefulness, saying the present government is working hard for him to be given federal appointment but went ahead to scuttle the effort of the Jigawa APC led government.
Ado Kiri stated it wasn’t their intention to join issues with Hashim, being an elder and respected member of the party in the state, “but to our greatest surprise the man we so much have respect for, went ahead to sabotage our efforts of compensating him with federal government appointment.”
He, however, called on Pharmacist Hashim and other aggrieved party members in the state to drop their weapons and be part of the success journey of the party train, for better 2019.
He assured them of the party’s support and mutual working relationship, aimed at giving the party second chance to govern the state after the 2019 election.
