Jigawa bomb blast: LG boss urges calm

The Chairman of Gwaram local government area of Jigawa state, Hon. Hannafi Yakubu has urged people of his area to remain calm and continue with their business as there is no cause for alarm in the area.

The chairman made this appeal following the media report that a roadside bomb was detonated and resulted in the killing of some soldiers in the forest area of Gwaram local government which consequently threw the people of the area into confusion.

Hannafi stated in a press statement which he signed and made available to newsmen in Dutse that the blast occurred several miles away from the local government, adding that people should continue with their lawful activities.

“The blast occurred in a forest around Ginika village, which is part of Darazau local government Bauchi state”, he said.

Hannafi called on the people to always report any suspicious movement around them and also continue praying for peace and stability in the area and the country in general.

He also assured the people that his council will continue to cooperate with security agencies to ensure lasting peace in the area.
