The Jigawa state government has re-instated the appointment of suspended Provost of the Jigawa College of Education Gumel, Dr. Sa’idu Barau Ahmad.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Director Tertiary Education of the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; Hajia Safiya Muhammad said the re-instatement is with immediate effect.
According to the statement, the re-instatement followed the report of the committee set up to investigate the allegation against the provost and series of meeting held with government officials to resolve the issue.
The statement advised the officer to ensure that he operate the activities of the college in accordance with the law establishing the institution and the public service rules and regulations.
It would be recalled that the Provost was suspended by the state government following allegations filed against him.
