The Jigawa State Internal Revenue Services has confirmed the generation of over eight billion naira as revenue in the first quarter of 2015.
The chairman of the board Dr Nasir Sabo dropped the hint while fielding questions from news men shortly after delivering his speech at the two day town hall and capacity building workshop for Civil Society Organisation and market groups.
The event was organised by Prime Initiative and Tax Justice Platform with support from Christian Aid and CISLAC.
Dr Nasir who said, the effort was achieved due to the support given to the board by governor Namadi maintained that, on April 2025 alone, his board generated over N3 billion.
“We have achieved this success with support from the governor in addition with new strategies and policies, expecially the digitalisation of revenue and tax collection system in the state”, he said.
