Internally Displaced Persons (IDP’s) who fled to Lere LGA of Kaduna State following an attack on their villages have received relief materials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) at the weekend to cushion effect of their hardship.

NEMA said the IDP’s are victims of one of the recent attack carried out by unknown gunmen in neighbouring communities of Kaura LGA area of the state.

The items presented to the victims by NEMA’s North West Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Musa Ilallah include food items and other household essentials to cater for their needs at the IDP’s camp.

These are 100 bags of rice, millet & guinea corn, 20 bags of Sugar, 30 bags of salt, 100 cartons of instant noodles, 80 cartons of tin tomatoes, 40 cartons of 3-in-1 tea, milk & Milo.

Others were 500 pieces of Shadda brocade, wax prints, mattresses & mosquito nets, 200 pieces of mattresses. 600 pieces of plastic cups, buckets & spoons, 800 pieces of blankets, 400 packets of pampers and 100 packets of sanitary pad.

Executive Secretary State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Kaduna Hon. Ishyaku Dogo Makama who received the materials from NEMA on behalf of the state government, handed over the items to the vice chairman of Lere LGA, Hon. Danazumi Gada for onward distribution to the affected victims.

People’s Daily recalled that earlier NEMA provided succour to other victims of the attack in three villages of Bondon District in Kaura LGA of the state.
