Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side, Kano Pillars, have accepted to pay the sum of N7.5 million sanction imposed on them by the League Management Company LMC for violation of rules guiding the league, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
On Monday, the LMC slammed a fine of N7.5 million on the Kano State Owned football club for breaching rules in relation to Covid-19 protocols and encroachment of field of play by fans.
The LMC handed a N5 million fine on the Pillars for violation of Covid-19 protocols and another N2.5 million for fans encroachment.
The league body also handed a suspended three points deduction penalty on the club in an event such ugly situation occurs again during the season.
In a statement Tuesday, the league body confimed that Kano Pillars have accepted responsibility for the infractions and tendered an apology.
“Kano Pillars have responded to the charges brought against them for breaching the Framework & Rules of the NPFL during their Matchday 27 fixture vs Akwa Utd at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Sunday, June 13, 2021.
“The club have tendered an unreserved apology and also accepted blame for the infraction,” LMC said.
Kano Pillars are second on the league standing after they drew blank against visiting Akwa United when the match which was abandoned on Sunday as a result of the violence was concluded Monday morning.
They have 49 points, one less than their Sunday opponents, Akwa United who occupy the first position with 50 points from 27 matches.
