From Ahmed Idris, Birnin Kebbi
The Kebbi State Accord Party Chairman, Abdullah Muhammad Sani, has described the State Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) election conducted last month as a kangaroo election marred by irregularities.
Addressing newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, the State chairman said that the election which was conducted last month, was supported by the state government agents, urging the National Party and other political parties not to recognize the newly elected exco members.
Sani, who also contested against the incumbent chairman, expressed dismay over the support of some national officer for removing his name on the eve of election day.
“They connived with the national body to ring the election, they gave them about N50million to support the government’s candidate”, he added.
He added that he wrote a protest letter to the national secretary, but nothing was done yet, appealing to the National chairman to still look at their predicaments as there was no IPAC election in kebbi State.
Sani explained further that he purchased the championship forms, which his name has appeared in the final list of the national IPAC headquarters and the evidence of the payment of nomination form fees and the letter of expression of interest was also attached, but coming to Birnin Kebbi, his name was removed from the list of the contestants.
