Kidnapped Jigawa lawmaker’s wife regain freedom

The kidnapped wife of Jigawa state House of Assembly member representing Miga constituency Zahra’u Haruna has regained freedom after spending five days in the hand of kidnappers.
The police spokesperson SP Abdul Jinjiri confirmed the released adding that the victim was found in Ringim plantation area of Ringim local government Jigawa state.
According to him, the victim called her relatives that she was released by the kidnappers and later with support of police, the relative rescued her.
While speaking to our reporter, a relative to the victim said, the victim was released on Thursday around 10:00PM after paying ransom to the abductors.
It could be recalled, Hajiya Zahra’u abducted by unknown gunmen from her residence in Dangyatum village, Miga local government area on Saturday January 11, 2020.
Two days after her abduction, the kidnappers demanded fifty million Naira as ransom to release her.
It was also reported that, Jigawa State Police Command, have arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnapping of the victim.
State Commissioner of Police, Usman Sule Gomna, confirmed the arrest to newsmen at command headquarters, Dutse.
He said police are still investigating the case in order to arrest the culprits.
