The Chairman, Kwali Area Council, Danladi Chiya, has donated a newly built office to the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Chiya said the new office was to aid the agency in its fight against criminal elements.
He said the NSCDC is critical in protecting critical assets of government, saying that the gesture will bolster morale of officers in the discharge of their duties.
He said that the Area Council will always cooperate with the NSCDC and other security agencies in the fight country.
While thanking the chairman, the Commandant General, Abubakar Audi, harped on the need for intelligence gathering to stamp out criminality.
He said the NSCDC will always collaborate with the people and all well meaning Nigerians to defeat criminal elements.
He therefore ordered personnel to work with sister agencies in the Gwagwalada and Kwali axis of the FCT to flush out remnants of bandits and kidnappers within the areas.
Audi said: “Citizens and residents of Kwali should be on alert because we understand that some bad guys are infiltrating these hilly areas of Kwali and Gwagwalada.
“We enjoin all residents of these areas, and in particular Kwali to provide timely information to security agencies who are now working in synergy to flush out all these bad guys.
“They have been degraded elsewhere, so we have to get rid of them from the entire FCT.”
On his part, the Commandant of the FCT Command, Olusola Odumosu, said the office will be put to good use by the officers.
He said their partnership will wax stronger to continue the fight against criminal elements in the society.
He commended the chairman for his visionary leadership and promised that the corps will not let him down.

According to Odumosu, “the FCT Command has now been recalibrated to face crime headlong. Besides our regular patrols, the tactical squad will be strategically positioned within the territory to ward off criminals.”
