The Kwara State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Elders Forum has rejected any plan to transfer the botched governorship primary of the party to Abuja.
The Forum made it position known during a press conference in Ilorin held at the residence of immediate past Deputy Governor,Chief Joel Afolabi Ogundeji.
The forum, through it Chairman,Senator Aliru Idrish disclosed that the forum after it meeting on the botched primaries decided that the authentic lists endorsed by the Local Government Chairmen of the party should be use for the primaries.
Idrish, who was represented by his Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Ayinla Folorunsho said the forum was not carry along on the election processes and had resolved that for the party to win election, delegates should be free to elect their Governorship candidate.
He said the forum also resolved that there should not be separate venue for the accreditation of delegates and voting, stressing that both should be done in a venue.
The forum, which recommended that only accredited delegates members should be allow to enter the voting venue, said the primary should be hold in Ilorin not Abuja.
While collaborating the Chairman remarks, the former Deputy Governor of the state and member of forum, Chief Joel Afolabi Ogundeji said the botched governorship primary had shown that the popularity of the party and sign of democracy in the party.
Ogundeji noted that Kwara state are experiencing freedom to elect their political leaders for the first time after 40 years stressing that many leaders and members ran away from opposition party because of imposition and would not allow imposition of candidates.
