The Kwara State government said it is set to explore alternative source of energy to solve the power problem facing the State.
The Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi disclosed this on Tursday in Ilorin while receiving Executive of the State Chapter, Nigeria Union of Tailors led by its acting President, Mallam Yinusa Alamu in his office.
Alabi explained that the government would look into the possibility of making use of the abundant solar energy to generate power for the benefit of the people.
The Deputy Governor promised that the Union would be given due attention to make them function effectively.
In his welcome address, the acting President of the Union, Mallam Yinusa Alamu pledged the support of his members to the government using the opportunity to make a pleas that government look into the possibility of reducing the tax currently being paid by its members.
The deputy Governor in his response to the union’s plea for reduced tax levies on members noted that tax is being collected to provide infrastructures and make life better for the citizenry.
