Man stabs wife to death in Benue

A middle aged man has reportedly stabbed his wife to death in Benue State.
The incident happened in Korinya, Konshisha local government area of the state.
An eye witness said the man killed his wife over little misunderstanding.
Though, the cause of the misunderstanding could not be ascertained immediately, the eyewitness explained that the couple had a misunderstanding in the early hours of Tuesday.
“A neighbor told us that the wife suddenly cried for help as the husband was beating her and before people could get to the house, the man had already stabbed his wife.
“Seeing what happened, the man tried to run away but was apprehended by the youths and taken to the police station”, the eyewitness said.
When contacted, spokesperson for the state command, SP Catherine Anene confirmed the incident but said she was awaiting details.
“The incident is confirmed and suspect is in custody. We will understand what really happened during investigation”, she said.
