Manchester United have announced John Murtough as the club’s new Football Director, and Darren Fletcher as Technical Director respesctively.
The club confirmed the new appointments on their website on Wednesday afternoon, and a day before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side take on AC Milan in a UEFA Europa League last 32 first leg tie in Manchester.
“Manchester United is pleased to announce the promotion of John Murtough to Football Director and Darren Fletcher to Technical Director, two new roles that will further strengthen the club’s football operations,” said the club’s announcement.
John Murtough’s role will be centred around recruitment and related strategies, while Darren Fletcher, who is no stranger as a former midfielder and recent technical staffer, will head playing and performance.
