The Plateau Peace and Justice Forum (PPJF) has expressed fear over call a group on the Nigeria Army to take military action against the community where the car of missing general was found in a pond.
The car of the missing general was found on Saturday in a pond, in Daru Du area of Jos South Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Forum, there people who take to social media , instigating and calling on the army to take a military action against Dara Du area are mischief makes.
The Forum, therefore called on the army to disregard such call.
The Forum also called on the Plateau people to allow personnel of Nigerian Army to do their job in searching of missing Major General Mohammed Idris Alkali (retired) who was declared missing since 3rd September, 2018.
It made the call through its President, Jonah Bot Pam at a press conference held in Jos on Sunday.
He said, “We call on our brethren in Plateau state, home and abroad to be wary of those that are instigating them to violence.
“This is the time to allow the relevant agencies to do their work. We call for restraint to allow the law take its course and not resort to hostilities based on whatever their ethnicity turns out to be,” he said.
The forum also chided one Idris Ahmed of Citizens United for Peace and Security (CUPS) for alleged sowing of discord on his Facebook page in his attempt to instigate a crisis between the Nigerian Army and the people of Plateau state.
“We find it inhuman and insensitive that Idris Ahmed has constituted himself into a supreme authority to declare Major General Alkali (retired) dead,” the Forum said.
