Mohzo’s reelection as COCIN President will promote Nigerian Muslim-Christian harmony – Sen. Ndume

In a striking show of kinship across religious divide, Senator Muhammadu Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South senatorial district at the National Assembly, has expressed elation at the recent reelection of Reverend Dr. Amos Musa Mohzo as National President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN).
Senator Ndume, a Muslim, and Reverend Mohzo, a Christian, are cousins. They both hail from Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
Ndume, in a statement, last Sunday, expressed optimism that the reelection of Dr. Mohzo would be a catalyst for the promotion of peaceful and harmonious coexistence between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria.
Reverend Mohzo, who hails from Ngoshe- Sama, a remote village in Gwoza Local Government Area, is, by his reelection, the first Christian clergyman outside Plateau State, the headquarters of the COCIN, to bed reelected for a second tenure.
Senator Ndume, having come from both muslim and Christian family, described the Mohzo’s reelection as a victory not only the people of Gwoza and Borno state, but the entire country.
He congratulated members of COCIN in Nigeria and those in diaspora, for giving Reverend Mohzo a second chance irrespective of where he hails from.
“The National President (COCIN) is somebody I know with integrity, honesty, and an unquestionable character,” Ndume said, continuing, “He is a man of deep humility, unshakable faith, and steadfast dedication to the service of God and humanity, which i believe, was the reason he was given the second chance to lead the Church.”
“Let me also use this opportunity to congratulate all members of COCIN in Nigeria and those in diaspora, for giving Reverend Mohzo a second chance irrespective of where he hails from”, he said.
