Monarch seeks creation of new state in Delta

By Nosa Akenzua, Asaba

The Omu of Okpanam and a veteran Journalist,Obi Martha Dunkwu has called for the creation of a state from the present Delta State, saying that it would not only bring more development to the two states but would attract more revenue from the Federal Government .
Omu who spoke to journalists in Asaba on Tuesday on the creation of Delta State, said that the implication of the request would be more revenue that would be followed by more development, adding”I think beyond this, there is need to create an additional state from the present Delta state for more development”
Addressing possible doubts that may arise,Omu said” for those who may be nursing the fear that our state cultural/social affinity and unity may elude us if another state is created from the present Delta State, they should disabuse their minds of such imaginations or thought because even with the creation of an additional state, our cultural, social affinity and values would still remain.”
